Oakland Township is one of the oldest townships in Michigan. It was also one of the original 25 townships making up the territory of Michigan, consisting of many farmers and railroad workers.
Today, Oakland Township is a more of a bedroom community. It is not very densely populated due to township ordinances restricting commercial and industrial development, making it a lovely place for raising a family.
Oakland Township also has one of the most scenic trails for biking, walking and running. It is called the Paint Creek Trail, which links the village of Lake Orion to the city of Rochester. It is the former train route that operated in the lower peninsula from the mid 1800s to the mid 1900s.

“One of the best things about the company was that all of the crews they used were very professional. I was very comfortable with them in my home.”

“Borchert Kitchen & Bath completed a renovation of our mud room and laundry room during December 2013. The design process was very collaborative and Bill Borchert and his team came up with several unique ideas to optimize our living space. During construction, the site was maintained in a very clean and orderly manner and subcontractors were supervised at all critical moments. During the heaviest days of construction, even Bill was on-site to personally ensure everything went smoothly. We would recommend Borchert Kitchen & Bath to anyone looking for a complete design-build solution, especially in occupied spaces.”
– John & Kristen, Oakland Township, MI
“Ron was very easy to work with and coordinated the crews effectively. His goal was to make us happy and he did it!”
